 II. Purpose of Portfolio 

This portfolio is intended to document the work you have done in the foundation courses and your potential for a career in teaching. It will be used in support of your candidacy for admission to the School of Education. Upon admission to the School of Education, you will continue to build your electronic portfolio as you move through the program.

In this space, please write a statement of approximately 500 words that includes:

  • Your reasons for becoming a classroom teacher,
  • The grade level and/or subject(s) you are interested in teaching,
  • Your prior experiences with children, and
  • Any experience you might have had working in an educational setting.
